Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Hutch & Hen, a homestead livestock management application operated by VajgrtLabs ("we," "us," or "our"), available at hutchandhen.com. By creating an account or using Hutch & Hen, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Description of the Service

Hutch & Hen is a progressive web application that helps homesteaders, small farmers, and breeders keep calm, complete records for their animals. Features include:

• Individual animal records for poultry and rabbits — 11 species built in, plus your own custom species — covering species, breed, sex, birth dates, and status.
• Groups and flocks, breeding records, pedigrees, and printable cage cards.
• Production tracking (eggs, butcher yields, and more), weight logging, health notes, and feed records.
• A money ledger for sales and expenses, with true-cost tracking (such as your real cost per dozen eggs).
• Data export, backup and restore, and cross-device sync — on every plan, including the free plan.

An account is required to use Hutch & Hen. Your data is stored on our servers (not only on your device) so it stays safe and syncs across your devices.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hutch & Hen. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts and Your Responsibilities

• You must provide a valid email address and create a password to register. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
• Each paid subscription may be used on up to 3 devices. We may ask you to remove a device before adding another once the limit is reached.
• You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account details up to date.

4. Plans, Free Trial, and Billing

Hutch & Hen offers the following plans (prices in USD):

• Free — up to 10 animals, 2 flocks and 2 colonies, with full logging (weights, breeding, feed, butcher, sales & expenses), CSV export, backup & restore, cross-device sync, pedigrees and cage cards, egg charts, and push notifications. CSV imports count toward these limits on the free plan.
• Free full-Pro trial — new accounts receive 7 days of full Pro access at no charge. No payment method is required to start a trial.
• Pro Monthly — $8/month, billed monthly.
• Pro 6-Month — $48 every 6 months.
• Pro Yearly — $96/year, billed annually.

Pro plans include unlimited animals, flocks and colonies, weight charts, animal photos, polished PDF reports, and the morning email reminder digest (the digest also sends during the free trial). Everything listed under the Free plan above — full logging, CSV export, backup & restore, sync, pedigrees and cage cards — stays free; Pro never puts your own records behind the paywall. All Pro plans are the same $8/month equivalent — there is no discount for longer terms. (Earlier prices — $7.99/month, $39.99 every 6 months, $79.99/year — are retired: they are no longer sold, and anyone subscribed at those prices keeps the price they subscribed at for as long as their subscription stays active.)

• Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — see our Privacy Policy.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on each renewal date.
• If you purchase a Pro plan, your paid billing period starts immediately — the free trial does not stack onto or extend a paid subscription.
• Prices may change in the future. If they do, we will notify you in advance and any change will apply from your next renewal — never retroactively. Existing subscribers keep their price for as long as their subscription stays active.
• Taxes may apply depending on your location and will be calculated at checkout.

5. Cancellation

• You can cancel a subscription at any time using the self-serve Cancel Pro button in the app's subscription settings. No need to contact support.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep full Pro access until the paid time runs out; it is not cut off early.
• Our refund terms are described in the Refund Policy.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Hutch & Hen for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the service in bulk, or interfere with its normal operation.
• Share your account credentials to circumvent the device limit or plan restrictions.
• Upload content that is unlawful, abusive, or infringes the rights of others.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, particularly where necessary to protect the service or other users.

7. Records and Guidance Disclaimer

• Cost figures, production summaries, and similar calculations are computed from the records you enter. Their accuracy depends on the completeness and accuracy of your records; treat them as estimates for your own planning.
• Health content describes commonly used home-care practices. We do not prescribe medication. If an animal is seriously ill or suffering, consult a veterinarian.
• We make no guarantee of breeding outcomes, production levels, animal survival, or any particular result.

8. Intellectual Property

The Hutch & Hen application, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by VajgrtLabs and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Hutch & Hen for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission. Your data — your animal records, breeding and production logs, ledger entries, notes, and photos metadata — remains yours.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Hutch & Hen is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• VajgrtLabs is not liable for any loss of animals, livestock, produce, income, or data, or for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including reliance on care or breeding guidance or on cost calculations.
• Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or $10 if you paid nothing).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VajgrtLabs from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the service or violation of these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of Hutch & Hen after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
